New Year's Eve
We've hosted a big New Year's party for the last 7-8 years. The house is crowded, it's noisy, and it's fun. Usually, 8-15 people end up sleeping in our 1,600 sq.ft. house. We stack 'em in like sardines. I think this will be our last party until the baby is a little older. Time to pass on the torch... But we'll enjoy this one last hurrah!
We have certain traditions: we play board games or Kinect games; we eat appetizers from around 7:30pm til around 1:30am; we have bacon wrapped venison around 8:30; M. falls asleep around 11:15, and it's a struggle to wake him in time for the countdown; and we eat breakfast at the Diner on New Year's Day.
Probably my favorite part of the party, though, is the day after. Whoever remains piles into the living room and we watch 3-4 movies. And eat more food. We all change into sweats and laze on a mattress that we put on the floor.
It's pretty hard to top a day spent watching action movies and snacking, in my eyes. It definitely starts the new year out on the right foot.
Hope everyone has a happy, happy New Year! May 2012 bring a satisfactory amount of excitement to your lives.

Happy New Year Joie! 2012 is going to be a HUGE year for you! :)
ReplyDeleteWe should start new NYE traditions next year, since I'm basically an old lady and don't like to "party" much and Baby King will be around! Dinner party?
